Travelled with my husband we know many locals which is the only reason we go to this resort, and its cheap. We've been 6 times. Meet fantastic people every time we travel here.
Food is terrible but go to the public beach, also restaurants in town are great. Speak with the locals you can do a pig and lobster roast on the beach, you won't be sorry. The locals are fantastic. Faro Luna has better drinks. This hotel is all about price, you can't beat it. This is a very strange place to stay.
Feels like it was build by the Russians in the 60's as its over the top concrete in garish colours. Our room was on the second floor, no list and no staff to help. The room was dated, in need of some painting etc, but adequate. The pool area was ugly, ugly, ugly. The bar didn't make you the cocktail you asked for, only serving one type which was white rum with a lime slushy thing. The beach was lovely, however the water had sea grass after a few feet.
I am not a big fan of sea grass. The beach boys were surly, and begrudgingly got out the kayak or paddle boat for us. There were three restaurants, but only one open, the buffet. I struggled to find anything edible there, and ended up having rice. The pool bar serves pizza thats good. I picked the omlette only. The evening entertainment was the highlight. Juan Carlos sang salsa that night and we all got up and danced.
He was a great entertainer. Other than the entertainment, theres nothing good about this place. This hotel was included with our trip of air flight and food. There was an endless amount of beer available and the food is not as pleasing after the first two days. The rooms open up to the beach. The shower drain needed some plumbing. It runs very slow. Overall, the service is slow and the local Cubans in the weekends were given priority for the food and services.
